Another Pamela Anderson disaster

OK I'm not one to jump into celebrity gossip or whatever, but this is just too much. I had to get this off my chest, or Pamela's for that matter.

Pamela Anderson used to be someone that was hot and we all loved. But seriously who cares now a days about her. She is way passed her prime and her body has gone through too many surgeries. Don't get me wrong if anyone of us saw her in person we'd still stare and probably say something stupid to her. But now she's on the verge of another (I lost count) divorce with the guy that Paris Hilton made her famous sex flick with. I mean seriously that dude was a loser, but I guess not. I mean Paris and Pamela that's kind of iconic. But she may not get divorced after all. Oh the best part is she says she fell in love with him after paying a poker debt with sexual favors to him...now that's hot. I mean tell me you wouldn't want to tell your kids, "yeah your mom and I met when I banged her cuz she owed me $250,000." I'm just curious does Pamela Anderson think her kids will never read the papers, magazines, etc. how proud are they to say yeah, "yeah that's my mommy and my new step dad." Come on now seriously this is a joke and people like Pamela Anderson should not be allowed to reproduce. Oh just wait until Paris Hilton has kids.

The Senator Report

Well well well the names have been released of those that are "allegedly" involved with steroids. The list is so long and yet not that surprising when you sit and think about it. I mean Glenallen Hill, yeah he was good, for about 3 years , because he was hitting bombs. Oh, then there's Eric Gagne, I mean seriously who is in shock of that one. I'm a Dodgers fan but also a journalist and just not a moron. Put at the top, and the names that have everyone talking are Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite, Barry Bonds and Miguel Tejada. Good job Miggy in getting traded.

Athletes love the limelight

Apparently athletes will do whatever it takes to be in the limelight. Do some of us just not watch television and realize that as an athlete anything, and I mean anything bad you do will be on the news. You will be exposed and you will have to suffer the consequences at some time.

Adam "Pacman" Jones obviously didn't teach anyone anything.

Michael Vick well let's not go there.

I mean there are many others thave have gotten in trouble in the past but it seems like this year it's been the most high profile guys. The newest and baddest name of all:

BARRY BONDS...he has been indicted and now his fate will be in the hands of all those fans he never cared about. He may never see a day in prison, but I think he should be banned from baseball ala Pete Rose. Bonds definately has no business in the Hall of Fame and heck take ALL his records away.

On a local note: Just when you think Fresno State athletics are turning things around, they go south. Jason Shirley (football team) gets a DUI and hit-n-run charges. He's suspended from the team for the rest of the year only to be reinstated. A day after he's reinstated he's pulled over and cited for driving with a suspended license. Not a smart move.

Rekalin Sims was arrested for allegedly beating up and robbing a disabled man. Sims attorney continues to say Sims had no knowledge of the robbery. Sims is currently suspended indefinately.

Oh Fresno State why are we always in the spotlight for negative things.

Here's a plus; Fresno State linebacker Marcus Riley had the biggest hit I have ever seen on quarterback Colt Brennan. All you on the east coast were asleep when did happened and missed it. Check it out below!!

Joe Torre heading to LA

Bring on Joe Torre....Bring on Don Mattingly....and that only leaves one more person to complete the trio. Yes that's right, I will say it....Bring on A-Rod, Pay-Rod or whatever you guys want to call him. Bottom line is that he's the best all around player in baseball today. Heck I'll go as far and say in our generation. Yeah all you Barry Bonds fans reading this right now are probably cringing and shaking your head at me, but I said it. A-Rod is going to break Barry's tainted record and without any HGH, clear, steroids or any other performance enhancing drugs scandal surrounding him. I know what some of you are thinking...Joe Torre is old, actually he's a 67-year-old Brooklyn man. But see hear me out here, there is a plan. You bring Torre in along with Mattingly, which basically is saying that Torre can have the job for as long as he wants then it becomes Mr. Mattingly's. You can't go wrong here if you are the Dodgers. You have to make this move. As an organization you can not pass up on the opportunity to bring in a Hall of Fame manager. Torre can definately teach the young players a lot and can help rekindle the trust in the clubhouse amongst the veterans and youngsters. I'm excited, 2008 could be a very good season.

On another note, the Rockies had no business in the World Series. Troy Tulowitzki could not handle the biggest stage of baseball. No one on the Rockies was prepared for this. It was simply too much for them. Unfortunately you don't get very many chances like this and for the Rockies this may have been their only opportunity. They let it slip away.

Jonathan Papelbon is the best closer in baseball.

Josh Beckett is the man in the playoffs....

Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia welcome to the big leagues....Maybe they can give some advice to some of the Rockies' young players about handling the big stage and performing.

The Giants and Barry

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This picture sums it up for the Giants and Barry Bonds. Now they will both embark on a new mission. Barry still searching for that elusive ring, while the Giants search for identity after Bonds. As a Dodger fan it's great to see this happen. Don't get me wrong we have our own problems. But hey at least nobody on the Dodgers' organization has a baseball that may possibly be blasted into outer space. See www.vote756.com

The Patriots

OK seriously do the New England Patriots need to be recognized more than they already are. Yeah whatever so they outsmarted your team and figured out your hand signals. Guess what NY Jets fans the game was over. The game was over before you took the field. It was over when the NFL schedule came out and it pinned you versus the New England Patriots. So did they cheat when they made the Chargers look like a Pop Warner team this past weekend? I guess the big question is are they cheating when Tom Brady is throwing perfect passes to the washed-up Randy Moss. Maybe we should check Moss' gloves they could have that tacky substance on them (laughing).

No seriously people can we not compare this to the Barry Bonds situation. It is completely different. Yes I said. One is illegal (steroids) the other is just a league violation. Not to mention that steroids give you a bit more of an advantage than knowing what defense your team is going to run on third down. In football you have to get the snap, drop back, throw the ball, watch the ball into your hands, catch the ball, and then and only after all these have been done perfectly can you run with the ball. Oh, by the way, you have to hold on to the ball while running with it and as you are being tackled. So, yes I think it's complete different. By the way I'm voting to brand the baseball. Great idea by Mr. Marc Ecko.

Back to the Patriots. All this spy-gate situation did was give the Patriots more publicity and now ESPN reporters can't stop talking about how great they are. They are good. But some are making ridiculous comments such as they will finish undefeated. Come on it is the NFL no one will ever finish undefeated. Besides the Browns proved anyone can look great for a week. While I do think they are one of the top three teams in the NFL (Colts, Patriots and Bears), I do not forsee them finishing undefeated. My prediction is they will lose three games. Until next time kids I'm out and continue reading!

SOFTBALL SEASON STILL ALIVE

It's the time of year for those of you who play a lot of slow-pitch competitive softball where all the teams are getting ready for the big tournaments. It's unfortunate but the team I play for, Mudville Ten, is pretty much done for the year. It was an OK year, 5th in NSA D States, but didn't achieve what we wanted to this year. All hope is not completely lost for the year on my end. This Saturday I will be playing in NSA "D" Western Worlds with a team called D&R Construction. They are a very good team and I'm excited about playing with them. I'm also going to be going to Nashville, Tennessee to play in NSA World Series with D&R. The season is still rolling. See sometimes these blogs are just random. Who would of expected a softball blog. Well boys and girls if you want to catch up on the drama that is the softball world feel free to go check out the message board on www.dssbats.com under softball only. It's classic some of the stories on there.

Fresno State Football 2007 Outlook

OK so where to begin with the beloved home-town Bulldogs. Let's face reality, it's going to be another tough year for the Valley boys. Not only do they have an unproven, has yet to live up to the hype quarterback, in Atwater native Tom Brandstater, but the loss of middle linebacker Alijah Lane for the entire season is a huge blow. Oh, wait you want to hear more bad news, well their most experienced and leading receiver from a year ago, Chastin West, is also out for the season. Pat Hill has to be sitting at the dinner table wondering what he's going to do to save his job. Many people in the valley want him out, but he's the second highest paid coach in the Western Athletic Conference and buying him out will cost Fresno State a lot of money they don't have (Thanks Lindy Vivas). By the way, who are they going to convince to come coach the Bulldogs. Let's not give up all hope just yet, running back Lonyae Miller still looks like he's going to be a stud. The offensive line is still in tack, and if they can stay healthy they will be a good bunch of hog mollies paving the way for Miller, Anthony Harding and Batman himself (Clifton Smith). I'm not even going to start on the receiving corps, some may confuse them for corpse by season's end. Chastin West is gone and he was the leading returner with a total of 33 catches, yes 33. Now the leader is Bear Pascoe, don't get me wrong this guy is beast, but he's not Vernon Davis or Kellen Winslow Jr. Defensively things could be scary for the secondary. They are going to have to grow up quick. Moses Harris and Marvin Haynes, both sophomores are oozing with potential, but potential doesn't win games. Let's not forget quarterbacks couldn't get any Bulldog defensive backs to catch their passes, as they finished with less interceptions than refrigerator Perry has touchdowns. And the WAC possesses heisman hopeful Colt Brennan. But the defensive leader is back however, Marcus Riley, is ready to roll at his outside linebacker spot. He's a stud period. But can he really anchor the defense alone? Tyler Clutts has to become the great defensive end he can be and Jason Roberts (DE) has to live up to his Jason Taylor hype from high school. Oh it's going to be an interesting season and with just two weeks before powerful Sacramento State comes into the doghouse, the Bulldogs better be ready to roll.

Trivia: What team did Dwayne Wright get drafted by and in what round??
